Postgraduate taught (Master's) study is similar in structure to undergraduate study, but at a more advanced, specialist level.

Why study a postgraduate degree?

  • Improve your earning potential
Graduate labour market statistics show that the average salary for a postgraduate degree holder was £42,000 in 2021 - £6,000 higher than an undergraduate degree holder.
  • Further or change your career
Become an expert in your specialism or unlock new career paths. An Advance HE Experience survey found that 61% of Master's students study for career progression while 24% study to change career.
  • Contribute to your specialism
The University aims to produce research which has a real impact on people and practice. Your research could lead to world-changing progress in your field of expertise.
  • Gain networking and industry experience
You'll study alongside experienced peers, and come into contact with professionals who could benefit from your unique skills. Many courses offer you the chance to gain experience on an industry placement.
