Biography

Dr Therese Sheehan joined the University of Bradford in 2013 as a Lecturer in Structural Engineering. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University College Cork in 2008 and an MSc in General Structural Engineering from Imperial College London in 2009. She completed her PhD in the University of Warwick from 2010 to 2013 where she also worked as a research assistant and an early career fellow. Her main research interests are in the fields of steel and composite (steel-concrete) structures including concrete-filled steel tubes and composite beams.

Her teaching responsibilities include Structural Mechanics and Analysis and the Civil Design Project modules, taught to 2nd year Civil and Structural Engineering students, in addition to the supervision of undergraduate final year projects and MSc projects. She is also the Programme Leader for the MSc in Advanced Civil and Structural Engineering and the ICE Liaison Officer for the Civil and Structural Engineering Programme Team.

Research

Steel and Composite structures - conducting laboratory testing and numerical simulations. Particular focus on concrete-filled steel tubes.
