About the School

The School of Management has been an international leader in business education, research and knowledge transfer since 1963.  As one of a handful of business schools worldwide with the coveted triple-crown accreditation, we have created an environment of world-leading management education and research where everyone can flourish and make a difference to the world.  We received our first accreditation in 1970 with AMBA, followed by Equis in 2000 and AACSB in 2012.

We have an international outlook; our first international partnership was established in 1989, and since then we have created links across the world within our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Accreditation

The School of Management is part of an elite group of business schools worldwide with the triple-crown of accreditations - AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

Many of our courses also have accreditation from professional, statutory or regulatory bodies.

Our mission and vision

Our mission and vision statement captures our dedication to providing excellence in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.

International activity

International summer school

We are proud to host an annual International Management Sustainability Summer School (IMSS) at our Emm Lane campus, in the iconic Heaton Mount conferencing centre.

The School brings together Masters-level students from our own, as well as partner and collaborative partner institutions, principally from across Europe and the Middle East/Gulf countries. The focus is on key issues and challenges relating to sustainability, ethics and the circular economy.

Strategy

Our strategic approach is in support of the wider institutional international strategy.

Study tours

The School of Management, in partnership with Ahlia University (Bahrain) and Qatar University (Qatar), has launched an “Entrepreneurs across Borders” initiative. The initiative aims to integrate the theory and practice of transacting business in emerging markets.

Both tours include a series of workshops, and visits to multinational organisations, social enterprises, startup/incubators, cultural visits, guest talks, and social activities with partner institution students and staff.

Partners and markets

We aim to develop partnerships and collaborate with high-quality accredited institutions. Discover more about our partners and the markets.
