Please ensure you have returned your signed contract of employment. This will be put in your personnel file.

 

Your first day

People Services meeting

You will have been invited to attend a meeting with a member of the People Services team during your first week (details are provided in your contract of employment). Please attend this meeting and bring with you the following documents:

  • Passport (or original birth certificate & National Insurance card)
  • Visa (if applicable)
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications
  • Bank/ building society account details
  • P45 (if possible) if not a completed P46.

Induction

During your meeting with People Services, you will be booked onto the next available Welcome to Bradford event.

The Welcome to Bradford Event is to welcome everyone to the University and will help you find out about it's history, strategy and values, as well as providing important resources and information about what is available to ensure you feel settled in your new role. Attending the event will build on the departmental induction that your Academic Faculty/department will organise for your first couple of weeks by providing broader information about the University, it's vision and culture. It will also give you the opportunity to meet members of the senior management team to network with other new staff from across the Institution.

Compulsory training

Detailed below are required training courses for all members of staff at the University of Bradford:

  • Mandatory Training - All staff are required to complete various Mandatory e-Learning modules. Please refer to your new starter pack and Induction Checklist for further details.

Staff identification card

As part of your local/ department induction you will be taken to obtain your staff card which will allow access University and car park (if applicable) access. This will be a photo identification card and should be displayed at all times whilst on University premises.

First day parking

You are able to park in our visitors car park on your first day. You should present yourself to the University Reception Desk, Richmond Building to obtain a visitor parking permit.

You should enter the University City Campus visitor car park via the Richmond Road entrance, this can be accessed from the University entrance on Great Horton Road. The postcode for Sat Nav purposes is BD7 1AZ. Permits for this car park will only be available from Richmond Reception and parking will be offered on a first come, first served basis .

Please note, this facility is only available for your first day and alternative arrangement should be made for future parking.
