Long history

The Department has a long history of being at the forefront of new developments in the fields of computer applications, interactive media, design, computer animation and games and computer applications. What underpins all these activities is the belief that information, its creation, processing, transmission and interpretation, is at the heart of everything that we do, from the development of the latest web-based applications to the production of the next blockbuster movie.

Track record

With a track record of developing innovative new interdisciplinary programmes, we are at the forefront of research across media and creative practice areas. We broke new ground by creating a Digital Media course with the National Media Museum, and we have won high praise for our Digital Media Working Academy which provides paid work for our students.

Award winning students

Across all of our courses, we blend academic excellence with real-world practical skills, and this is shown by industry recognition of our courses by professional organisations. Our students regularly win awards for the work that they produce during their studies and go on to have just as successful careers. For those with an interest in computer games, animation, visual effects, digital media, television, media, web design, photography or film, we're sure we have the right course for you.
