What do I do if I am not happy with the course?

Contact your Faculty Support Team in the first instance and discuss with them what you are not happy about.

How do I change courses?

Firstly, you should contact your Faculty Support Team to discuss why you want to change courses. They will need to know as they will have to release you from a course.

If the course change is within your own Faculty they may make the change for you. If it is a change to another Faculty then you will also have to speak to Admissions for the course you want to move to.

If you are accepted on the new course your old Faculty will have to release you, and you will have to inform the Student Loan Company (if in receipt of a tuition fee loan) or your sponsor (if someone else pays your fees for you).

Once your course transfer is agreed, if required, we will also write to your funding body finalising your transfer.

How do I withdraw?

Firstly, you should contact your Faculty Support Team to discuss why you want to leave as they may be able to help.

If you decide that you would like to leave, you will need to complete a withdrawal form and return this to your Faculty administrator.

If you are worried about any financial consequences (outstanding payments to the University) then please visit the fees support team in The Hub to discuss your withdrawal, or ring on 01274 233200.

You will have to inform the Student loan company (if in receipt of a tuition fee loan) or your sponsor (if someone else pays your fees for you).

Once your withdrawal is agreed, if required, we will also write to your funding body finalising your withdrawal.

I will be absent / have been absent from University. What should I do?

If you are going to be absent from the University you will need to inform your Faculty administrators.

Some sessions are compulsory and absences should only occur due to something which is beyond your control.

If you are an international student here on a tier 4 student visa and wanting a leave of absence during term-time, then you will need to complete an absence request form (these can be obtained from your Faculty).
