About the DLHE Survey
What’s the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (DLHE)?
The Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey (DLHE) is an annual survey of all leavers from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) i.e. universities and colleges. All higher education institutions are required to conduct the DLHE survey on behalf of the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
When does it happen and how?
Here at the University of Bradford we contact all our graduates, whether you graduated in July or December and invite them to take part in the DLHE survey.
We are required to contact all graduates even if you have chosen to continue to study at the University of Bradford.
Between November 2017 and March 2018 we’ll contact you by email, phone call or letter and take you through the survey questionnaire. The questionnaire relates to your employment, self-employment, unemployment or study status as of the 10th January 2018.
The quickest way to complete the survey is online; the telephone version takes about 4-5 minutes.
If we don’t receive a completed online survey from you after the first few weeks, the DLHE team will attempt to contact all leavers by phone.
All data collected in the DLHE is used anonymously to ensure that no one individual graduate can be identified.
What’s the benefit from completing the survey?
The University of Bradford publishes its anonymised DLHE data for each programme on its website and prospective students. By completing the DLHE survey, you help potential future students make informed choices about:
- Whether studying at the University of Bradford is likely to help them enter employment at professional and managerial level or progress on to postgraduate studies.
- What kinds of organisations, job roles and career paths graduates from the University of Bradford go on to.
- What postgraduate programmes University of Bradford graduates go on to and whether that’s at Bradford or another university.
By completing the DLHE survey, you also contribute to the status and ranking of the university and your particular programme in a number of national league tables.
